The Oakland Raiders High School Coach of the Week presented by Army program promotes high school football, giving high school coaches and teams the recognition that they deserve. Tony Sanchez, from California High School, was named The Oakland Raiders High School Coach of the Year. The Grizzlies finished the season 11-2 and co-champions of the East Bay Athletic League. California High School also won the school's first ever North Coast Section playoff game this season and advanced to the Section Class 4-A Championship Game. Congratulations Coach Sanchez! Designed to honor coaches who have created successful programs for teams and players, both on and off of the playing field, the Coach of the Week program provides teams with financial assistance to maintain their football programs. During each week of the high school season, The Oakland Raiders selected one high school coach as the Coach of the Week winner during the 2007 high school football season. Each recipient was awarded a $1,000 donation to the school's football program from The Oakland Raiders and the NFL Youth Football Fund, recognized on High School Sports Focus on KICU Action 36 Cable 6, a certificate signed by The Oakland Raiders Head Coach Lane Kiffin, an Oakland Raiders Coach of the Week cap and jacket.
