DL Play from the 3-4 - With the 3-4 defense, it's imperative to have a tough NT because his job is to take on the center and one of the guards simultaneously on each play. The DEs play against the offensive tackles. All three of the defensive linemen have what is called two-gap responsibility. This means they are responsible for the gap to their inside and their outside.

Counter Play - Jacksonville has had a lot of success running misdirection plays. Running back Fred Taylor has generated significant yardage off the counter over the last few years. The tailback must have patience for this play to work

Sprint Out - The Titans will move QB Vince Young out of the pocket to give him a dual threat to run or pass. This puts pressure on the defense as they are uncertain whether to stay back or come up. This play works best with a QB who is a fast runner and has an accurate arm on the move.
